ISLAMABAD: The awareness campaign for safety of moto
rcyclists concluded on Wednesday.
Following directions of Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan, this campaign was formally launched by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) under
supervision of IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin and special teams were constituted to educate road users as how to ensure their safety before traveling on roads.
These teams are performing duties at various main roads of the city and briefing the moto
rcyclists and motorists about safe jou
rney. The moto
rcyclists driving the bikes without helmets and side mirrors or having defective indicators, head
lights, rear
lights and speed meters were educated and appealed to get faulty parts repaired. Around 15,000 moto
rcyclists were given awareness during it while faulty motorbikes were also repaired in collaboration with Atlas Honda.
Around 65, 000 road users were given provided awareness about traffic rules and different seminars were also held to impart safety tips to road users while more than 500 banners and pan flexes were placed in various locations of the city having road safety messages. More than 70,000 pamphlets were also distributed among road users having safety tips during drive or using roads.

o;Purpose of this campaign was to ensure safety for moto
rcyclists and prevent any road mishap by educating them about safe road environment. Honda Atlas assisted the moto
rcyclists during this campaign to repair the defective
lights, indicators or other equipment free of cost.”
“Many road accidents of moto
rcyclists occur due to their faulty
lights or indicators,” he added.
Malik Matloob appealed the citizens to follow lane discipline and other traffic rules to avoid mishaps on roads otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
