red on all PTV channels.
Chairing a consultative meeting on the launch of a ch
ildren entertainment channel here on Wednesday, she asked PTV to submit a detailed and comprehensive
time-wise plan in this regard.
The minister said that a separate ch
ildren entertainment channel was the need of the hour, as no work had been done for ch
ildren entertainment and boosting the broadcasting industry.
She said that indigenous content was quite imperative to connect future generations with their culture and heritage. “Our ch
ildren need such a content that could educate them and build their character by inculcating in them the characteristics of goodness and modesty.
Marriyum directed the PTV management to utilise all possible resources to produce quality content for ch
ildren to make them aware about cultural and religious v
alues of the society.
The meeting also deliberated upon various fast-track options for the launch of a dedicated ch
ildren entertainment channel. The meeting was attende
d by information secretary and other senior officials from the ministry and the PTV.
